If I end explorer.exe, will my screen reader still work? I only want to end it, then restart it, but I don't want to try this, if my screen reader won't work during the experience...*smile*

Thank you

Yeah, The process explorer.exe is the main function of Windows. So if you end that process, that means no desktop, and a few other things.

Smile, thanks all. It worked, I ended it and started it up again, my screen reader kept on talkin'.

My goal was to have CCleaner clear out my systray notification area, and after I did that, I needed to end that process and start it back it up again. Then restart my computer, all was successful!

Kelly's corner has a script I could download to do all this for me, but I wasn't sure about downloaded such a thing.

Don't end Explorer.exe, whatever you do. As the previous posters have said, it's an essential process, like lsass.exe, smss.exe, csrss.exe, and winlogon.exe.

One time I thought explorer.exe had something to do with internet explorer so I ended it. Never doing that again although I think you can bring it back up via run diolog box.
